Daniel's in Seattle for a much-deserved skiing weekend with a friend, the boys and I and the dog have all been sick, and Owen has surgery Monday. We've had a lot of other stuff, too, the last few weeks, and life feels like just a little too much right now. 

But yesterday we woke up to a snowy white world, washing it all new and fresh. Sadly, with all these coughs and runny noses, we missed Palm Sunday at church. After the boys' quiet time, I think we'll sit down and read the story together by the fire.

We've made this before, with molasses and brown sugar and it was OK. Not great. This recipe, with maple syrup and salted butter, was delicious. It's basically caramel! We made a half batch and it was plenty for the three of us.
