It turns out that the retreat was held in the
D. L. James house, designed by architect Charles Greene in 1918. Every detail of the design, furnishings, and grounds is exquisite, but despite the obvious luxury, it feels warm and welcoming, like a magical world. The grounds look like a botanical garden and the golden granite of the main house glows in every mood of light. The house and all the intricate paths and bridges are literally built into the cliffs above the wild Pacific.

This second structure (a newer addition) is called the Greenhouse. It merges a true greenhouse with bedrooms and a round yoga room that opens on all sides to the sea.
