For Christmas, Erin gave Owen a mini drum-set. She was probably remembering this video from the summer, when Owen went wild on Uncle David's drums.

The drum-set (and Jack's recorder concert at school) inspired the boys to write their own music for a "concert." They worked on this for about two hours, completely on their own. Jack on recorder, Owen on drums.

Here's a video of the rehearsal. (Pardon the underwear but we like to keep it casual when the creative juices start flowing.)

Notice that Jack wrote out notes and posted them on the bunk beds. He also assigned notes to each drum. They had a plan.
