Maryland

We didn't do much this year. We spent time being together, and that's just what we came for. A little blackberry-picking, Jimmie Cone visits, country drives, a nostalgic visit to my grandparents' farm, some boys doing serious begging for iphone games from their relatives, dancing to the Wii, cooking and baking, watching movies, swimming in the pool, and just hanging out with family. The best.

Butler's Orchard

 Sweet success!

Blueberry and Sour Cherry...

...and Candie

We had lunch with my generous, kind, funny and very strong Aunt Boo-Boo (her real name is Mona but I've only ever called her Boo-Boo, short for "beautiful"). It was so great to catch up with her.

Of course Mom and Boo-Boo spoiled the boys with presents at the mall.

On the way home, we drove down Daisy Road to Greenbrier, my grandparents' farm. It's sad to see the old house and property empty. But it looks pretty much the same as I remember it. We used to drive up there almost every week, and most holidays. I have lots and lots of childhood memories on these green country roads lined with red barns and cornfields.

Time for an early birthday party for Daddy! Just missing DK.

Who invited these loony-bins?

So sweet.

So grateful for my wonderful family!
