Hola, Juan. Como estas?

The big news in our family is that Jack has switched from the Chinese program to the Spanish program. This charter school is one of the most desirable schools in the Denver Public School system. Getting called this summer with a Chinese spot felt miraculous, but Spanish was always our first choice. If you know us, it's obvious why. Nothing against Chinese, it's just that we speak Spanish, we've lived in Spanish-speaking countries, and we want to go back at some point.

It's a long, drawn-out story and I was a stress case for a few weeks as we waited to hear from the school administration and struggled to make the best choice, but in the end we were offered the chance to switch programs. It was one month into school and not ideal for Jack, who was already having a tough time adjusting. But you know what? We're 6 weeks into school, 2 weeks into Spanish, and the daily morning tears and "I don't like school" pleas are starting to peeter out. I think we're going to get through this.
